RISKWORLD COVID-19 Policy

RISKWORLD will be held at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco on April 10 – 13, 2022.

The City and County of San Francisco requires that RISKWORLD employs social distancing protocols, that attendees wear masks and that they are vaccinated for the Covid-19 virus including receiving the booster inoculation. RIMS must comply with San Francisco laws.

HOWEVER, at the Moscone Convention Center, if attendees choose not to receive the Covid-19 booster, fully-vaccinated individuals now have the option to submit a negative, lab-certified Covid-19 test result. The PCR test result must be taken within two days (48-hours) of entering the Moscone Center for the first time. A lab-certified antigen test must be taken within one day (24-hours) of entering the Moscone Center for the first time.  At-home tests are not admissible.

Fully-vaccinated is defined as:

  • Two weeks after the individuals second dose in a two-dose series, such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or other World Health Organization (WHO) accepted Covid-19 vaccines, or
  • Two weeks after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine
  • If the individual does not meet these requirements, regardless of age, they are NOT fully vaccinated.

RIMS will offer Covid-19 testing on-site beginning on Saturday, April 9 at San Francisco’s Marriott Marquis. Attendees who opt for on-site testing should recognize that they will not be admitted into the Moscone Convention Center until the lab confirms a negative result. Test results could take more than one day to receive so please plan accordingly.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: Attendees who opt for on-site testing will be responsible for an administrative fee of $45 USD. Additionally, RIMS will not provide conference registration fee or accommodation refunds to individuals who test positive.

This update pertains to the Covid-19 vaccination policy at the Moscone Convention Center. Private businesses in San Francisco may have their own vaccination and/or masking requirements.

This vaccine policy also applies to exhibitors, speakers, and guests.

The Society has employed a third-party vendor that specializes in conducting health screenings, as well as validating the authenticity of vaccine documentation.

RIMS Board of Directors and staff will continue to monitor the Covid-19 global pandemic and its impact on both domestic and international populations. Its leadership reserves the right to amend this vaccination policy accordingly. For questions about RIMS vaccination policy and/or eligibility to attend a RISKWORLD email RIMSeventsteam@RIMS.org.
